After four shows in Texas the Dallas Observer called Tom Steck “Godlike,”, Austin’s KUT featured I Heart Lung on their Texas Music Minute, and D Magazine posited, “I Heart Lung seem to answer the question: what if Sigur Ros had played on Miles Davis’ Bitches Brew?”. Add to that the Austin Chronicle’s poetic summary and you have yourself a nice collection of words.

There was zero premeditation for this performance. It was 100% improvised. We ended up throwing in a few beats and pieces here and there as the proverbial spirit moved, including Coltrane’s Seraphic Light, our own Axes Only. We went into the studio and recorded some new music. Music unadorned with fancy things like overdubs and guest musicians and EQ. Cris Cichocki assembled the beautiful artwork/photography and now we have a spectacular split 12″ (with DWMTG) available via Thor’s Rubber Hammer.
